As the only public agency that promotes Arizona as a travel destination, the Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) is dedicated to developing, implementing and maintaining marketing programs that keep Arizona top-of-mind as a vibrant travel destination.
Tourism is the largest export-industry in Arizona, generating $24.4 billion of direct spending, $3.63 billion in local, state and federal taxes, and 192,300 jobs in 2018. In addition to the attraction of more visitors, an engaging and enjoyable travel experience can also be a critical first step in attracting new residents, entrepreneurs and businesses to move to Arizona.
Arizona’s travel and tourism industry is operating in a new landscape driven by economic challenges, evolving demographics, emerging technology and shifting consumer travel patterns. Thus, the importance of AOT’s Strategic Plan is to lay the foundation upon which our agency will take the lead and assist in the continued growth and prosperity of our statewide industry, further contributing to the overall economic development of the state.
